A SEPTUAGENARIAN was beaten and robbed after two armed bandits invaded his Carriage Road, Rosignol, West Bank Berbice home on Friday

Amin Sibdhanny, 77, along with his relative Surujdai Bridgelall, were at home conducting a business transaction, just about 19:20hrs when two masked men armed with small handguns entered the lower flat of their two-storey wooden and concrete home, demanding cash and valuables.

As the bandits made demands, they beat the victims about their heads and other areas of their bodies. The robbers reportedly escaped with $520, 000.

When police arrived at the scene, the injured men were taken to Fort Wellington Hospital where they were medically examined, treated and sent away.

The police are investigating the incident.
