A 40-year-old man is now dead after he was fatally stabbed by his stepson at Grant Bethany in Lower Pomeroon, Region Two (Pomeroon-Supenaam).

Dead is Eon Williams, a farmer of Grant Bethany. His 20-year-old stepson, John Fredericks Albert, was taken into custody after reportedly confessing to the crime.
The incident occurred on Sunday, May 5, at 03:00hrs

The Guyana Chronicle understands that the suspect and his cousin Anthony Albert were imbibing when an argument and a fight ensued between them. Williams, who was around at the time, intervened; it is alleged that he took the frame of an old generator and dealt his stepson a lash to his left hand.

The suspect, who was armed with a knife, whipped it out and stabbed his stepfather to the side of his abdomen.

The Guyana Chronicle understands that the man collapsed and reportedly bled to death.
The incident was immediately reported to the Charity Police Station and a team of police investigators thereafter visited the crime scene and arrested the 20-year-old. He reportedly told the police that he killed his stepfather, but was unable to locate the murder weapon.

Meanwhile, Williams was rushed to the Oscar Joseph Hospital at Charity, where doctors pronounced him dead. His body was taken to the Suddie Mortuary where it is awaiting a post-mortem.
