SENIOR Magistrate Leron Daly, on Friday, March 22, 2019, remanded a man to prison on an armed robbery charge.

James Allen made his appearance at the Georgetown Magistrates’ Court and pleaded not guilty to the charge.
Particulars of the charge alleged that, Allen, on March 14, 2019, at Waterloo Street, Georgetown, while being armed with a knife, robbed Timothy Roach of a $23,000 gold chain and a cell phone valued $10,000.

Police Prosecutor, Corporal Sanj Singh told the court that Allen had similar charges before the court and should be remanded to prison.

Singh further told the court that when Allen was being arrested by the police, he attacked the rank and tried to escape.

The Magistrate, after listening to the prosecutor’s objections, remanded Allen to prison until April 12, 2019.
