IN the four games played over the weekend in the Guyana Hockey Board (GHB) First Division leagues, Pepsi Hikers and Saints men were the most recent victors.

In the Men’s Farfan and Mendes First Division League on Saturday, Old Fort came up against Pepsi Hikers who blitzed past them in a goal-scoring fest, running out 11-0 victors in a lopsided match.

Meanwhile, Bounty GCC and Saints played to a 0-0 stalemate on Sunday when the league continued. Pepsi Hikers grabbed their second win of the weekend by beating the developmental Supernova team by two goals without conceding any.
In an intriguing matchup, Saints managed to edge out Old Fort, winning 4-2 to clinch maximum points.

In the Women’s First Division league sponsored by Woodpecker Products, last evening GBTI GCC took on Bingo Spartans and up to press time, that game was yet to be finished. Tonight, Bounty GCC men will face GCC Vintage at GCC.

In the points standings, Saints sit atop the men’s table with four points after the second round while GBTI’s GCC are top of the distaff side of things with six points.
