A 24-year-old of Lot J946 Jackson St. Tucville, was yesterday, (February 26, 2019) brought before Chief Magistrate, Fabayo Azore for robbery under arms.
Junior Murray, an employee of ExxonMobil, is alleged to have robbed Simone Persaud on February 23, 2019, in the vicinity of Anira Street, Queenstown, the sum of $20,000 in cash.

The accused pleaded not guilty to the allegation.
In his defence Murray said “I was alone, I really don’t know how I was in the company of others. In my pocket I had $23,200 that went missing due to me being intoxicated from partying. I’m the father of two and I’m willing to lodge my passport or even pay back the woman because I’m working and have no need to rob anyone”.

Court prosecutor, Gordon Mansfield objected to bail being granted on the grounds that, on the day in the question, the virtual complainant was relieved of the cash by Murray. He was then seen by the victim’s son, who rushed to the scene, but nothing was recovered.
The matter was then reported and the defendant was arrested and charged.

Bail was granted in the sum of $100,000, under the agreement that Murray lodges his passport and reports to the station every Friday until the matter is concluded. He will return to court on March 1, 2019.
