MINISTER of Finance, Winston Jordan, was among those who witnessed the commitment to a partnership between local company, Banks DIH Limited, and Mexican company, UniCarriers Corporation.

The companies officially opened a showroom on Friday, where UniCarriers products including electric forklift trucks, electric narrow aisle trucks, electric pallet trucks and starters among others, will be on display. This joint venture signals the continued growth of and confidence in the expansion of Guyana’s economy.

Banks DIH Chairman, Clifford Reis, during the launch, said this partnership represents the beginning of a process of diversification of the company’s business model. “Part of our plans for the future is to respond to the challenges of the 21 century’s business environment,” Clifford Reis said.

UniCarriers’ Director of Sales for Latin America, Eduardo Torres, meanwhile stated that his company is careful in selecting business partners, and Banks DIH has proven itself to have values that are appreciated by UniCarriers. “We are so confident that we are choosing one of the best companies in Guyana; a company with good values and good reputation” Torres expressed. Among those who attended the launch was Mexico’s Ambassador to Guyana, Ivan Roberto Sierra-Medel and staff members of Banks DIH Limited. (DPI)
