Bent Street, Sparta Boss draw in second night’s action

DEFENDING champions Bent Street and pre-tournament favourites Sparta Boss drew their respective games on the second night of the Magnum Mash Futsal Cup 2019 on Tuesday.
Bent Street took on East Coast side Melanie in a gripping encounter. However, either side failed to produce a winner and had to split points.

Meanwhile, Sparta Boss clashed with Gaza Squad and it was more of the same as both sides could not find the back of the net.
Earlier in the opening engagement of the night, Good Life took care of business against BV-B with a 2-0 win, compliments of goals from Nicholas McArthur and Jermaine Tinch in the 9th and 10th minutes respectively.

Ryan Hing’s fourth-minute goal ensured that Kingston needled Avocado Ballers for maximum points, while Rhythm Squad also beat Tiger Bay by a similar scoreline, after Wendell Joseph scored in the 14th minute of that game.

One of the night’s most thrilling games was between Gold is Money and Stabroek Ballers. The former managed to hold out for a 2-1 victory after Colin Nelson (fourth minute) and Randolph Wagner (sixth minute) had opened up an early 2-0 lead. However, Daniel Gibson pulled one back for the Stabroek Ballers the very next minute to throw the game into frenzy.

Both teams showed ominous flashes but neither capitalised and in the end Gold is Money held on for the victory.
California Square came up against Capital Strikers and they played to a goalless draw while Sophia recorded a 3-1 win over Silver Bullets. Dwayne McLennon, Simeon Moore and Shemroy Arthur were the scorers for Sophia while Colwyn Drakes netted Silver Bullets’ only goal.

Back Circle stuck a dagger in BV with Selwyn Williams netting in the 10th minute to secure maximum points for Back Circle.
