THE decomposed body of Cedrick Riley, 58, called “Jkee” of Dartmouth, Essequibo Coast, was discovered on Saturday morning at Better Hope Backdam, Region Two.

The body was discovered by Zakir Fazel of Better Hope, Essequibo Coast, in a rice field about 40 feet west of the Better Hope Public Road.

As the news of the discovery spread, persons gathered at the scene where the body was identified by Munette Boston, who recognised the clothing the deceased was wearing.

The body was retrieved by detectives attached to the ‘G’ Division of the Guyana Police Force. It was taken to the Suddie Mortuary and is awaiting post-mortem examination. Police have launched an investigation into the discovery.
