Romel Drepaul-Saul , the driver of a car which crashed into an abandoned refrigerator  on the Number 59 village Public Road , Corentyne early on Boxing Day, has succumbed to his injuries.

Police said the young man was driving motorcar PVV 1120 when it crashed into the abandoned refrigerator around 06:40hrs on Wednesday morning.Another passenger, 18-year old Akesha Beaton of Number 51 Village was in the vehicle at the time.

The driver of the car reportedly lost control of the vehicle which toppled before coming to a halt in a drain.

The duo was taken to to Skeldon Public Hospital where they were treated and later transferred to the the New Amsterdam Hospital.
Investigations are ongoing.
