Buzzing This Weekend

IT’S time for the weekend again, people! And Christmas is in the air so there are a few events to help you to usher in the season, so take the kids out to see Santa if you can on Saturday and there’s a Christmas fest on Sunday.
The Guyana Carnival is also launching this weekend and that’s going to be a big one, and you should definitely be there if big crowds and lots of music are your kind of thing. There are also a few charitable events thrown into the mix. So don’t stay cooped up at home.

Today
The Vintage Wine Bar, Restaurant & Lounge presents “Latin Night” Get two Desperados Tequila Beers for $1,000

Tomorrow
Are you ready to discover the unknown? Are you ready Guyana for the 2019 Guyana Carnival Band Launch Party? Well HJ Entertainment is launching it at the Giftland Parking Lot under the theme “Genes 2019: the Lost World”. Get a preview of how it’s going to go down next year when the four bands and 15 sections hit the streets. Tickets: $2,000

MM Entertainment presents an Old School Party at the Gravity Lounge in aid of fundraising for the You Are Not Alone NGO. Tickets: $2,000
It’s here again folks “Santa’s Enchanted Christmas Village” at the Demerara Park. Take the kids out to see Santa and enjoy entertaining games, participate in storytelling, partake in our face painting, play in our bouncy castles and trampolines and much more activities. And of course, Santa will be giving gifts to those lucky boys and girls. Admission: $500 for Adults and children over 12 years old (Children under 12 free.) Ticket to see Santa and receive a gift is $500

The Vintage Wine Bar, Restaurant & Lounge presents Saturday Fete & Karaoke. Ladies get one free cocktail. Enjoy soca, chutney, reggaeton, dancehall and electronic mixes.

Sunday
Shades Women’s Club presents an Everything Christmas Fest from 14:00hrs at the Promenade Gardens. Head out and enjoy local business displays, cake and drink competitions, performances by local artistes, Santa’s village, FREE cake and ginger beer and FREE gifts. Tickets: $200 (Children), $500 (Adults)
The second stage of Guyana’s first-ever Go Kart Grand Prix the “KFC Mega Cup” continues this Sunday. The three-hour event will take place at the GMRSC Ground with points posted in real time online, with races in four exciting categories. To add to the excitement and flair they will host two (2) Foreign Competitors per event.

Head down to the Herdmanston Lodge for a chill afternoon of fashion, art and wine at “Orange The Runway Vol 1”. The event’s colour being in support of the 16 Days of Activism Against Gender-Based Violence. Come out and see pieces from Andrea Wilson from the British Virgin Islands, Isaiah Luther from Guyana and Rhoda Dox from Nigeria. Tickets: $2,000 (general), $5,000 (VIP)

Party Sundays continue at Club Privilege. Everybody free before 22:00hrs. Drink specials all night, free Bacardi shots on entry. Music by fusion DJs, Stereo Sonic DJs, Boom DJs and other DJs passing through.
