– for alleged ‘ganja trafficking’

A DIAMOND, East Bank Demerara couple was on Friday released on $100,000 bail by Magistrate Sherdel Isaacs-Marcus for trafficking cannabis.

Jamal Eastman, 24, and Niketa Bishop, 30, his reputed wife, appeared before the Providence Magistrates’ Court for trafficking 380 grams of cannabis at their Diamond- Grove home on November 5, 2018.

Attorney-at-law Bernard DaSliva represented the couple, and told the court that the drugs were not found in his clients’ possession but rather in a building he rents out as a shop.
The Magistrate the duo on $100,000 bail each and adjourned the case until December 17.
