Members of the Guyana Police arrested several persons after guns and ammunition were seized during several “stop & search “ exercises in “A” and “G” Divisions on Monday.

Around 14:30hrs on Monday, police stopped a car with three occupants on the Charity Public Road on the Essequibo Coast and two 9mm pistols, three magazines and fifty-eight (58) live rounds were found.

Later on Monday on the Linden/Soesdyke Highway in the vicinity of the Highway Base Outpost, a minibus was searched around 19:30hrs and a male passenger was found in possession of an unlicensed.38 revolver with a live ammunition as well as a spent shell.

At the same time, a car was stopped on the Linden/Soesdyke Highway by another police patrol and an occupant was found in possession of sixty-three grams of cannabis.
The suspects are being processed for court.
