ASHLEY Nurse, the Windies off-spinner, has been ruled out of the remainder of the India tour with a pectoral muscle injury. Jason Holder, the Windies captain, confirmed the development while mentioning the personnel changes at the toss of the fifth ODI in Thiruvananthapuram.
Nurse will now miss the forthcoming three-match T20I series as well, as a result of the shoulder injury he sustained during the fourth game in Mumbai.
“He is ruled out for the entire tour. I wish him well. Hopefully, he can recover quickly for the next tour,” Holder said.
Nurse, who has bagged five wickets and scored 55 runs in the series so far, was named Player-of-the-Match in Windies’ only win on the tour so far in Pune.
In the following game, he was seen clutching his left shoulder after bowling a couple of overs in the fourth game. He also went back to the pavilion to receive treatment after the 10th over. However, he returned to bowl another spell and finished with figures of 1 for 57 from eight overs. (Cricbuzz, com)
