Two ex-soldiers, accused of raping a girl and then robbing her boyfriend, have been charged and will appear in court on the Essequibo Coast today.

Police in a statement said that based on legal advice obtained, the suspects, who allegedly raped a 26-year-old female on the Essequibo Coast and also allegedly robbed her boyfriend at Anna Regina on Saturday, October 13, 2018, are charged with rape and will appear at the Suddie Magistrate’s Court today. The accused, both former army privates are Rawlston Reid, 22, of Douchfour Housing Scheme, East Coast Demerara and Isaiah Rawlins, 21, of Wisroc, Linden.
