I STRONGLY agree and support the position that national symbols must never be desecrated.

The recent action by two overzealous cricket fans cannot be condoned, but I would hasten to add that we should not be too harsh in our condemnation and put it down to the young ladies being caught up in the euphoria of the moment. I am sure that they have recognised their folly and regret their action.
