ROSE Hall Town Farfan & Mendes and Albion Under-15 teams will compete in the final of the Berbice Cricket Board-sponsored Mike’s Pharmacy Inter-club 50 overs tournament, after both teams won their respective semi-final games.
Albion defeated Tucber Park Cricket Club by three wickets, while the defending champions got past a determined Blairmont team by five wickets at the Area ‘H’ Ground.
At Albion, Tucber Park were bowled out for 104. Zeynul Ramsammy, the only batsman to offer some resistance, with 35.
Kumar Deopersaud and Pavendra Ganesh were the chief destroyers with 4-20 and 4-27 respectively.
In reply, the home team reached 105-7. Hemendra Gurdyal (21) and Tameshwar Mangal (18), were the principal scorers.
Ramsammy took 2-16, while N. Looknauth had 2-27.
At the Area ‘H’ Ground, Blairmont were bundled out for 103 in 35.3 overs. Shredath Roopnarine made 27, with extras contributing 32 to the total.
Matthew Pottaya (2-16), Jeremy Sandia (2-23), Johnathan Rampersaud (2-24) and Kevin Ramnaraine (2-18) were the main wicket-takers.
In reply, Johnathan Rampersaud hit a composed 54, which guided his team comfortably home, at 106-5.
Roopnarine took 2-19, while H. Ragbir had 2-32. A date for the final will be announced shortly.
