THE Guyana Police Force’s (GPF) ‘Night of Fights’ held on Friday evening, saw a number of thrilling clashes of boxing and kickboxing.
The event was held at the Tactical Services Unit’s drill square, Eve Leary, as part of the GPF’s celebration of their 179th anniversary.

The bout of the night featured Constables West and Andrews in the junior welterweight division that saw both fighters come out with fists blazing.
The fight lasted the entire three rounds but in the end, West won the match by a split decision.

The junior welterweight fight between Constables Williams and Assanah ended just two minutes into the first round. Shortly after the bell rang to begin the bout, Williams surrendered after taking a number of blows from Assanah .

Constable Thompson in the lightweight bout outclassed Constable Azeeze with a flurry of punches which brought the fight to an end in one minute one second of the second round.
Other fights saw Constable Grant beat Constable Charles in the bantamweight bout while R.C Jonathan abandoned his featherweight contest against Constable Gilbert in the final round after becoming breathless.

Constable Corbin defeated Constable Fraser in their welterweight match while Constable Fung got the better of Constable Lewis in their kickboxing match.
