A 23-year-old Alexander Village resident was on Wednesday sentenced to 10 years’ imprisonment on two robbery under arms charges.

Nicholas Smith was found guilty by Magistrate Faith McGusty for two counts of robbery. He was sentenced to five years’ jail on each count, and the sentences will run consecutively.

The first charge alleged that on February 11, 2018, on the Seawall Road, Nicholas Smith was armed with a gun and in the company of two others, robbed Dexter David of one gold chain worth $60,000, one Samsung phone worth $62,000 and $1,000 in cash.

It was further alleged that on that same day, Smith robbed Kevin Ramlall of one gold chain, one phone and one wallet.
The case was prosecuted by Police Sergeant Seon Blackman.
