Back in court again!

– this time for fraud

CHATTERPAUL Singh, known as Kevin Singh, who was placed on bail one week ago for attempted murder was back before a city magistrate on two fraud charges
The 42-year-old Cummings Lodge resident appeared on Friday before Magistrate Leron Daly.

The charges alleged that on April 23, 2018 at Georgetown, having received $240,000 for, or on the account of Richard Singh, Kevin Singh fraudulently converted the said sum to his own use and benefit.
It was also alleged that on March 24, 2018 at Georgetown, having received $600,000 for, or on the account of Richard Singh, Kevin Singh fraudulently converted the said sum for his own benefit and use.

The police prosecutor had no objection to bail and the magistrate ordered Singh to post $200, 000 to obtain his pre-trial liberty. The matter was adjourned for July 13, 2018.
The court also heard that it was only last week, that the defendant had appeared before another city magistrate to answer a charge of attempted murder charge, where it is alleged that on July 4 last, at Sheriff Street, with intent to murder, he wounded Chatanand Persaud.

After the charge was read, the virtual complainant (VC) in the matter told the Magistrate Judy Latchman before whom that matter was called, that he no longer wished to proceed with the matter.

However, Magistrate Latchman released Singh on $100,000 bail and instructed the alleged victim to give the police a statement.
