A Parika , East Bank Essequibo man is the country’s latest road fatality following an accident on the Essequibo Coast on Monday evening.

Dead is Hardat Sahadeo , called “Mud” a minibus conductor who is said to be in his 40s.

Reports are that Sahadeo was heading to his brother’s residence around 18:00hrs to attend a religious function when he was struck down by a car.

Eyewitnesses related that the driver , who is attached to the Guyana Forestry Commission , fled the scene after Sahadeo was struck down. However, police managed to apprehend him.

Police are investigating the accident.
