A 21-YEAR-OLD Venezuelan man was on Monday remanded to prison by Acting Chief Magistrate Sherdel Isaacs-Marcus on two simple larceny charges.
Moses Chapel is alleged to have on May 31, 2018 at Moura, North West District, stolen an outboard engine valued $631,000 from Orlando Charles.

It is further alleged that on the same day, he stole an aluminum boat valued $300,000, property of Terrence Henry. Chapel denied both of the charges.

Police Prosecutor Gordon Mansfield told the court that the defendant, who is a Venezuelan, came to Guyana two weeks ago. He said too that all of the alleged stolen items were recovered. However, he objected to the man being released on bail on the grounds that he posed a flight risk.

Chapel was refused bail and will make his next court appearance on June 11.
