Bhagwandin, Khan triumph at weekend Golf tournaments

MAHENDRA Bhagwandin and Kassim Khan put up sterling performances to emerged champions in the Grand Coastal Golf Classic and the Torginol Paints Annual Golf Tournament respectively.

Both tournaments were played over the weekend at the Lusignan Golf Club.
On Saturday, Bhagwandin, (65/20) narrowly edged past Richard Haniff, 66/13.
Aleem Hussain, 70/11 came in third, while Miguel Oviedo finished fourth with 70/28 score line.

Longest Drive was won by Roy Cummings, while the Best Gross was won by Haniff.
At the presentation ceremony, Chief Executive Officer of Grand Coastal Mr Kevin Daby congratulated the winners and thanked the Club for the opportunity to support the sport.
Club President Aleem Hussain thanked Grand Coastal for their support, and at the same time extended Honorary Membership to Mr Daby.

Meanwhile, Khan ended 68/10 ahead of Rabindranath Persaud 69/17 and Nazeem ‘Papo’ Haniff 72/9 on Sunday. Kalyan Tiwari and Maurice Solomon tied on fourth position with 73/13.
Satrohan Tiwari won the Longest Drive (the only golfer who drove his ball onto the fairway – 200 yds) while Khan won the Best Gross.

Production Manager of Torginol Paints, Fenton Persaud in congratulating the winners at the brief prize presentation ceremony, again reiterated Torginol’s commitment towards the support of the Lusignan Golf Club and the sport.

In response Hussain expressed the Club’s gratitude towards Torginol Paints.
