Four persons were rushed to the Suddie Public Hospital on the Essequibo Coast in a critical state following a vehicular accident on the  public road at the village early Tuesday morning.

Reports are that the driver of a white Toyota Spacio motorcar, bearing registration PVV 3599, was speeding along the roadway at Suddie when he lost control of the vehicle and crashed into a trench.

An eyewitness  related to Guyana Chronicle that he was in his room when he heard a loud impact. He immediately  raised an alarm and  public spirited citizens converged at the scene and tended to the three passengers and the driver who was reportedly intoxicated.

The eyewitness  alleged that the persons in the vehicle may have been  on a drinking spree since they were many beer bottles in the car.

When the Guyana Chronicle visited the scene early Tuesday morning, the mangled vehicle was lying on the grass at the scene of the accident.

Police are currently investigating the accident.
