Even as another piracy attack has been reported in Suriname waters , Police in “B” Division have arrested the brother of a suspected piracy mastermind as law enforcement here launch an investigation into Friday night’s deadly piracy attack in the neighbouring country.

Locally , reports are that police officers went to the home of the brother of the known pirate at Number 43 Village on the Corentyne and arrested the man’s sibling. He is assisting police with the investigations, sources in Berbice have confirmed.

Reports are that the  man who was arrested is the brother of “Sinbad” , who resides in Suriname , and who is being hunted by law enforcement in that country as investigations point to a “revenge act ” which led to the deadly attack on the fishermen last Friday . “Sinbad” is said to be the leader of the group of pirates.

According to sources in Suriname , another sibling of “Sinbad ” was murdered at his home in Suriname  in March and the man alleged that the act was committed by fishermen. According to reports he vowed to take revenge and attack fishermen.

Meanwhile , in an ongoing development , reports from Suriname are that pirates attacked another  fishing boat on Wednesday and fatally shot the captain of that vessel. Wednesday’s attack occurred in the in an area called Matapica Creek.
Surinamese Police and Coast guard have been deployed to the location and they are expected to bring the boat to shore later today. Efforts are being made to locate several other fishermen who were on the said boat.

The bodies were spotted within 30 miles from Zorg-en-Hoop, an area off the WaiWai bank by an airline pilot attached to Suriname domestic carrier, Gumair Airlines. The information was radioed in to the ground crew and the bodies were retrieved. Up to press time on Wednesay, efforts were being made to bring the bodies to shore as relatives waited anxiously.
