PANTHERS Rugby Club started their 2018 season on a winning note after stopping the Guyana Police Force Falcons 24-12 to win the Guyana Rugby Football Union (GRFU) Second Division tournament.

Playing at the National Park Rugby field on Sunday, the Panthers out-played the Falcons with Daniel Anderson, Ryan Dey, Delroy Fordyce and Tyrese Prescod each scoring tries.
Prescod, along with Lloyd Anderson scored conversions that enabled the Panthers to pull out the victory in the less than ideal conditions for rugby.
For the Falcons, Dason Barrow scored a try while Daniel De Abreu had a try and a conversion, but it was not enough to help the lawmen.
