Motorcyclist critical following collision in Rose Hall Town

A SECURITY attached to GuySuCo is currently in a critical state at the Georgetown Public Hospital following a collision on Monday night.

While details are sketchy, the man identified as Hector Gobin called ‘Echo’ of Williamsburg was on his way to work on his motorcycle when it collided with a motor canter sometime between 21:30hrs and 22:00hrs, opposite the Demerara Bank in Rose Hall Town.
He was picked up by public-spirited citizens in an unconscious state and taken to the nearby Port Mourant Hospital and then transferred via ambulance to New Amsterdam Hospital and subsequently to the Georgetown Public Hospital due to the injuries he suffered.

According to the wife and mother of their two children, Stephanie Gobin, her husband suffered severe injuries to his head which resulted in a fractured skull, internal bleeding and a cut to his abdomen among bruises about his body. She told Guyana Chronicle she received a call sometime after 22:00hrs stating her husband was in an accident and was at the Port Mourant Hospital.

“After I got the call I rushed to the hospital and when I saw him I nearly fainted. He was covered in blood and was not moving. He was missing some teeth and they had to transfer him over to New Amsterdam. When he reached and the doctors examined him they said he had serious head injuries so they decided to send him to Georgetown”
