ESSO Exploration and Production Guyana Limited (EEPGL) in partnership with the Region Two Regional Democratic Council (RDC) will be hosting an Oil Spill Response presentation on Monday, March 26 in the Council’s boardroom in Anna Regina.

According to a release from the Regional Chairman’s Office, a senior international oil spill response expert will be making the presentation commencing from 9:30 hrs. Major stakeholders, including members of the Essequibo Chambers of Commerce, residents and officials from both the private and public sector, will be in attendance.

This will be one out of many presentations held by EEPGL within Region Two to educate persons about what is happening in the oil and gas sector and the possible effects it may have on them.

At the last stakeholder scoping meeting for Liza Phase 2 held in Region Two at the Cotton Field Secondary School, many persons raised concerns over oil spills and how well equipped is Guyana as a country to deal with such eventualities.
