10 NOC children escape during church service

POLICE from ‘G’ Division (Essequibo Coast) and New Opportunity Corps (NOC) officials are looking for 10 inmates who escaped Thursday evening during a church service.

Reports are that a social worker attached to the NOC, Camilla Gonsalves, told the police that the escapees made a run for it around 14:30hrs, and made their exit through the back gate of the institution.

Those missing are Findell Goodings,16; Tabbeyana Taylor,14; Kenya Fordyce,16; Avella Gordon,15; Devyani Pachai,13; and Venus Edinboro,16, all of whom were serving time for wandering; and Emmanuel Surrey,16; Joel Edwards,15; Sinnaydie James,15; and Akeema Conway Budhram,15, who were serving time for damage to property, simple larceny and using abusive language, respectively.

Up to press time, none of the children had been caught.
