THE Dharmic Kendra in Prashad Nagar, Georgetown, will come alive on Saturday with “Rang Rasiya”, the Guyana Hindu Dharmic Sabha’s annual Phagwah Mela, an annual prelude to Holi, the Festival of Spring.

The event will feature some of Guyana’s finest artistes on stage, including Mona Gowkaran, Ganindra, Shivanad Singh and Vidya Ram of Emerging Voices and Varun Samlall, Celia Samaroo and Avinash Roopchan of the Shakti Strings Band.

The much acclaimed Dharmic Nritya Sangh of the popular show, Naya Zamana, will be performing vibrant and beautiful dances against a resplendent backdrop of colours. Drama will also be a highlight of the evening.

Hot pholouri, baiganie, samosas, potato balls and curries will be available in abundance for patrons. Face painting and mehendi will also be done and Holi colours will be on sale.
Gates open as early as 16:00 hrs and tickets are available at the gates for $800. Admission is free for children under 10 years. No alcohol will be allowed.

The event is organised by the Guyana Hindu Dharmic Sabha to usher in the Spring Festival of Phagwah slated for March 2.
