A 19-YEAR-OLD man of Old Road, Craig, East Bank Demerara, appeared in a City Magistrates’ Court charged with assault with intention to commit murder.

It is alleged that on February15, at Craig, EBD, Morris Khan unlawfully assaulted and maliciously wounded Oswald O’Brian, with intent to commit murder.

According to facts given in court by the prosecutor, O’Brian who was dealt several lashes with a bicycle bar by the defendant is in a critical condition at the Georgetown Public Hospital.

The prosecutor objected to bail based on the seriousness of the offence and the fact that the virtual complainant (VC) is still in the hospital.
Khan was remanded to prison by Chief Magistrate Ann McLennan until March 16. 2018.
