‘Otesha’ detained over death of Cummings Lodge youth

POPULAR member of the LGBT community, Otis also known as “Otesha” and another person have been arrested for questioning in relation to the death of Hemchand Dalchand, also known as “Rakesh”

Police sources told this newspaper that “Otesha” was arrested in Georgetown and was transported to the police ‘C’ Division headquarters at Cove and John. According to what detectives were told, the now dead man was reportedly seen arguing with Otis and another person hours before he was found dead on the roadway.

The Guyana Chronicle was informed that the police are also looking for two other persons. When the Guyana Chronicle contacted Otis on Monday, he confirmed that he was in police custody and that he was informed by ranks that he is wanted in connection with a murder investigation in ‘C’ Division. Dalchand’s body was found in a pool of blood on the East Coast carriageway in the vicinity of Oleander Gardens, just after midnight on Saturday. He was reportedly last seen at a BBQ at the Ogle Community Centre Ground where he and other friends had gone earlier on Saturday night.
