THE Linden Hospital Complex (LHC) is calling on the relatives of 54-year-old Winston Jeffrey who has been abandoned by his relatives and friends after almost three months of being discharged. While the management of the hospital was unsuccessful in gathering sufficient information on Jeffrey’s relatives since he is unable to speak, efforts were made to publicly inform them via the LHC facebook page.
Though the post received many shares, no one has since made contact with the hospital.
Jeffrey was admitted to the Kwakwani Hospital on August 6 by unknown persons after he allegedly fell ill on a work site in a community close to the Kwakwani District, Region 10.
He was then subsequently transferred to the Linden Hospital Complex where he was treated and discharged. The persons who dropped him off, reportedly left without giving much information and has never revisited him since.
It has been close to three months and Jeffrey has received no visitors and therefore he remains at the institution’s male ward where he is receiving routine care. He is said to be in a stable condition, but is unable to speak.
While the LHC does not have regular cases of abandonment, the institution has dealt with such cases in the past. Management is asking relatives and friends of Jeffrey to make contact with the supervisor’s office on telephone number 444-3005.
