Suspects in ex-serviceman murder released

Four persons were detained for questioning by the police in ‘C’ Division for the murder of ex-serviceman of Sophia, Trevor Dublin, 49, have been released.

Commander of ‘C’ Division Calvin Brutus told Guyana Chronicle that based on their probe, the persons held were not responsible for the crime, and as such, the police had to release them.

He said the police have to locate the person(s) responsible and the investigation continues.

Brutus is encouraging persons with information to come forward so that the killer (s) who stabbed Dublin to death can be brought to justice.

The body of Dublin, who was employed at BK International, was found on ‘C’ Field Access Road about 22:15hrs on Sunday night by members of a police mobile patrol.

The body bore a single stab wound to the left side chest.

A knife and a toque were found in proximity to the body and a resident of ‘E’ Field, Sophia was arrested.
A post-mortem performed on the body of Dublin by government pathologist, Dr. Nehaul Singh gave the cause of death as perforation to the left lung.
