HOSTS Mainstay Goal Stars proved too friendly and generous as they were mauled 13-2 by Henrietta FC in the latest round of the NAMILCO/GFF-sponsored Under-17 countrywide football tournament, held last Saturday at Mainstay.
The match began at 15:30hrs and as early as the 2nd minute Henrietta FC opened their account with a perfect strike from Christopher Boston.
Goals were then consistently scored as Jarod Granville netted in the 12th, Christopher scored his first of three in the 15th, Joel Caesar in the 23rd and Jumain Bowen 28th.. Mainstay Goal Stars then halted the onslaught with Dennis Skinner striking in the 30th minute
It was soon back to Henrietta FC with Jumain John piercing the net in the 34th and Mark Holder in the 35th, completing the first-half tally.
Soon in the second half, Mainstay, through Jessie Mohabeer’s strike in the 42nd minute, restricted the deficit to 7-2 at that stage.
Thereafter, Henrietta FC enjoyed further success with further goals from Christian Bacchus in the 64th, Ezekiel Scott 71st, Trevis Joyce 74th and Bacchus in the 87th to complete his hat-trick and end the game 13-2 in favour of Henrietta FC.
Meanwhile, Capoey gained a walkover from Good Hope FC who failed to turn up for their fixture on Sunday.
