NEWLY elected President of the Region Three Chamber of Commerce and Industry, Radesh Rameshwar, is lobbying all businesses for their support and cooperation to collectively create and operate in a business environment which is conducive to expansion and growth.
This was disclosed recently after a new Management Committee was installed at its Annual General Meeting (AGM) held at the Aracari Resort on the West Bank of Demerara.
Rameshwar in his inaugural speech, said the new management committee will work assiduously to achieve its mandate and objectively, while operating within the confines of the constitution of the Chambers of Commerce and Industry.
He noted that all the businesses would be impartially represented and the new management committee stood committed to effectively addressing all issues affecting businesses in the region.
The new committee is: Radesh Rameshwar, President with Vice-President Haleem Khan. D.C. Mayers was elected general-secretary, while his assistant is Ms. Rosita Ramdhan. Asgar Bacchus is treasurer, while his assistant is Ms. Natasha Mahadeo. Mohan Singh is organising secretary, while Prem Rambharak was elected public relations officer.
The following persons were also elected as committee members: Khushial Dat, Richard Sukhdeo, Omar Ramlakhan, Deodat Persaud, Rebenaut Tularam and Shakir Ali.
Also in attendance were private sector representatives Vishnu Doerga and Maniram Prashad. After the elections, a short presentation was made by Prashad addressing the prospects of oil and gas in addition to the positive effects it will have in Region Three.
