A LABOURER at the Bourda Market was on Thursday afternoon stabbed to death during a fight with a vagrant, police have confirmed.
Dead is Jerome Cumberbatch. The Guyana Chronicle was told that around 4pm, Cumberbatch and the suspect were locked in an argument, which turned into a fight. It was during the brawl that the vagrant allegedly stabbed Cumberbatch several times about his body with a broken bottle. He died before being rushed to the Georgetown Public Hospital, witnesses at the scene said. The suspect up to press time was still on the run.
