THE Payless Variety Store of Wellington Street, Robbstown, and Star Party Rentals yesterday rewarded the successful Guyana Junior CARIFTA Games athletes who bagged eight medals at the Games held in the Dutch-speaking Island of Curacao over the Easter Weekend.
Guyana’s double CARIFTA Games gold medallist and former national middle distance champion Lorrie Ann Adams presented the athletes with monetary rewards for their efforts at the just-concluded Games.

Guyana won a record four gold medals which included the 100-metre Boys’ Under-20 gold which was won by Linden athlete Compton Caesar. Caesar also copped a bronze medal in the Under-20 Boys’ 200-metre event.
Adams made the presentation to the athletes on behalf of Payless Variety Store’s Managing Director Joseph Ramkumar and Star Party Rentals’ Chief Executive Officer and former national cricketer, Lennox Cush, at the National Communications Network, Homestretch Avenue office.
