FOUR matches are set to mark the opening of this year’s Petra Organisation’s Milo-sponsored Under-18 schools football tournament today, at the Ministry of Education ground on Carifesta Avenue in Georgetown. The Bishops’ High School will open this year’s championship against St Winefride’s Secondary at 11:00hrs.
Game two will be contested between St Rose’s High and Houston Secondary from 12:30hrs, while North Ruimveldt Secondary and St Joseph High School clash in game three. The day’s final game pits defending champions Chase Academy against Freeburg Secondary.
The 32-team competition will see the winners cart off $500 000, second-placers $300 000, third-placers $200 000 and fourth-placers $100 000 in projects for their respective schools as well as individual prizes.
The six-week tournament will hold matches on Saturdays and Sundays.
