CITY Magistrate Brendon Glasford on Wednesday dismissed a simple larceny case against a policewoman charged with stealing a Samsung Galaxy cellphone. The case against Woman Constable, Yonette Jupiter, 35 was dismissed due to the prosecution’s lack of evidence. Jupiter was represented by Attorney-at-law Patrice Henry.
The charge against Jupiter detailed that on Friday, August 12, 2016, at the Commissioner of Police’s Office, Eve Leary, Georgetown, she stole one Samsung Galaxy S4 valued $129,000, one 32 gigabyte memory card and a GTT Subscriber Identity Module (SIM) card valued $3000, property of Royston McPherson.
The Magistrate ruled that there was no nexus linking Jupiter to the crime since the cellphone was recovered in a fire bucket at Eve Leary.
