A DELIGHT Travel Service Consultant was on Thursday released on $75,000 bail by Chief Magistrate Ann McLennan for airplane ticket fraud.Adriana Onoja, 27 of Diamond Housing Scheme, East Bank Demerara pleaded not guilty to the charge which stated that between October 10 and November 1, at Georgetown with intent to defraud Okooko Konoke, she obtained $630,000 from him by falsely pretending that she was in a position to get him a two-way ticket from Lagos, Nigeria to Georgetown, Guyana knowing same to be false.
Police Prosecutor, Simone Payne made no objection to bail but explained to the court that the defendant and the victim are known to each other. Payne also noted that the police file is still incomplete. The Magistrate released Onoja on $75,000 bail with the condition that she report to the Golden Grove Police Station every Friday until the completion of trial. The matter is adjourned until January 16, 2017.
