AN elderly motorcyclist was killed on the Hampton Court Public Road Thursday afternoon when a car slammed into him. Dead is Suresh Samaroo, 65, of Hampton Court Public Road, Essequibo Coast.

The accident occurred around 18: 30 hrs when a silver-grey car heading from Anna Regina, and reportedly travelling at a fast rate of speed, came into contact with Samaroo.
“I was standing outside and I saw it pass at a fast rate. He hit the guy on his bike middle of the road from the back. Just before Jai Rum Shop,” an eyewitness told the Guyana Chronicle.
At the sound of the crash, scores of residents rushed out of their homes to see what had happened. An ambulance that was travelling from Charity to Suddie with a patient picked up the injured man and rushed him to the Charity Hospital where he was pronounced dead on

arrival. Police later arrived on the scene and took the driver away. The dead man’s motorcycle was retrieved from a nearby trench.
