BANKS DIH Limited has won the prestigious “Coca Cola Excellence Cup” for Performance excellence (small markets), winning the award ahead of other leading bottlers of Coca Cola within the regional Latin Centre Business Unit (LCBU).The Cup was awarded at the recent LCBU Bottlers meeting held on November 17th, 2016 in Miami, Florida, USA, Banks DIH said in a release.

Receiving the high accolades in Miami were Mr. Clifford Reis – Chairman/Managing Director, Mr. George McDonald – Co-Managing Director/Marketing Director and Mr. Andrew Carto – Human Resources Director.

In commenting on the win, Mr. Reis expressed pride and gratitude on behalf of all at Banks DIH Limited who contributed to the company’s success. Mr. Reis said: “Our Company has over the years built a quality system which today has been recognised with this award. Our staff remains committed to quality in the production of Coca Cola products and all other products made by Banks DIH Limited. I am also proud that we as a Guyanese Company can win such an important award.”

Bottlers in the LCBU and across the world compete in several categories of Sales, Health, Safety and Environment. The classifications include Sales Growth, Package quality, Product Quality, Personnel safety measured by the Lost Time Injury Rate (LTIR), passing the unannounced Coca Cola audits of Core Requirements and maintaining compliance certifications in FSSC 22000 (2014) – Food Safety System Certification, ISO 22000 (2005) – Food Safety Management System, ISO 9001 (2008) – Quality Management System, ISO/TS 220002-1:2009 – Prerequisite programme on Packaging manufacturing, ISO 14001 – Environment and ISO 18000 – Occupational Health and Safety among other measured parameters.

This is only the second time that the Excellence Cup was awarded.

Banks DIH Limited is the local bottler of Coca Cola since 1990.
