A young Cuban-trained doctor attached to the Suddie Hospital on the Essequibo Coast died Friday evening following a motorcycle accident.
Dead is 24-year-old Dr Hemant Persuad. Reports are that the young doctor who returned to Guyana two years ago from Cuba was riding a motorcycle which he purchased only three days ago when he collided with a bench at Middlesex on the Essequibo Coast.

He was flung off of the bike and reports are that he sustained injuries to his head and other parts of his body following the incident. Persuad was rushed to the Suddie Hospital but efforts by his colleagues to save him were futile.
