TODAY is the day that former Chase Academy and current Fruta Conquerors 16-year-old star, Jeremy Garrett, finds out if he is accepted into Sporting Lisbon’s academy.
The youngster who left Guyana shores for Portugal last Monday has now completed one week at the youth academy. According to his mentor Alex Bunbury, Jeremy has been garnering attention due to his class on and off the football pitch.
“From all accounts Jeremy is doing very well, all practices are private and photos are not allowed to be taken but he has been pure class on and off the field according to one of their top scouts,” said Bunbury.
It hasn’t been all work and no play for Jeremy who has also gone to games the club has played. According to Jeremy the experience so far has been a great one.
“Training and so was great, we’ve been doing a lot of game situations,” said Jeremy.
It is hoped that Jeremy has impressed the club enough to be given an opportunity to stay on at the prestigious academy.
