Bus driver on intent to commit murder charge

A FORTY-SEVEN-year-old minibus driver was remanded to prison on a charge of intent to commit murder when he appeared before Chief Magistrate Ann McLennan yesterday, in the Georgetown Magistrates’ Court.It is alleged that on October 31 at Lodge, Georgetown, Cayson Clementson with intent to commit murder, wounded Andre Phillips.
Police Prosecutor, Inspector Neville Jeffers, opposed bail for the accused citing the fact that the victim is still hospitalised. His objection was upheld by the magistrate, who refused to grant bail to the accused and transferred the matter to city magistrate Judy Latchman’s court for November 22.
According to reports, on the day in question the men were involved in a heated argument when Clementon became annoyed and stabbed Phillips to his neck with a knife. Phillips was picked up in an unconscious state and rushed to the Georgetown Public Hospital.
