GORDON Richards amassed some 87 points to end as the top shot in the Guyana National Rifle Association (GNRA) Smallbore Section .22 Precision Pistol competition which went down at the Tactical Service Unit (TSU) Range, Eve Leary last Saturday.Richards took his win ahead of Surujballi Persaud who ended his day with 78 points. Just behind with 76 points was Raval Seojattan, Murtland Smith followed with 64 points and Compton Sarabo concluded his day with 56 points.
The competition saw shooters face off at the 5m, 7m, 10m, 15m and 20m distances, with each one required to shoot 10 rounds with their strong hand, unsupported from the 5m, 7m and 10m distances, after which only the top 10 advanced to the 15m range where they shot 10 rounds with their strong hand supported.
It was then only the top five who made it in, competed at the 20m mark, with 10 available rounds with their strong hand supported.
