An Annandale, East Coats Demerara man was killed in a two-vehicle smash-up on the Providence Public Road, East Bank Demerara Tuesday morning. Dead is 51-year-old Dhanraj Datturam. He was the porter on the truck which slammed into another one which was parked on the Providence Public Road. This newspaper was told that the truck that was parked was laden with cement. The other truck was proceeding in a northerly direction on the road when the driver lost control and slammed into back of the other vehicle.
Datturam and his driver were seriously injured and rushed to the Georgetown where the former passed away while undergoing treatment. Guyana Chronicle was told that the accident occurred around 04:30hrs.
