Bounty GCC, Pepsi Hikers register massive wins

 

BOUNTY GCC and Pepsi Hikers registered massive wins in the latest round of the Guyana Hockey Board’s (GHB) Lucozade Indoor Tournament being played at the National Gymnasium.According to a release, on Saturday evening Bounty GCC destroyed Old Fort Knockers by a 11-2 margin, while the same evening, Pepsi Hikers demolished Saints by a 8-3 margin. There were also some heavy losses for other teams that played the same day.
According to results, Kevin Spencer recorded a helmet- trick for Bounty GCC in their game against Knockers, scoring field goals in the 10th, 26th, 37th and 38th minutes and was supported by Daniel Hooper who netted in the 35th minute and two during the 36th minute.
Jason Khalil contributed two goals in the 5th and 26th minutes, while one each was scored by Steven Xavier in the 12th minute and Kareem McKenzie in the 40th minute.
Responding for Old Fort Knockers was John Abrams who bagged a double in the 31st and 33rd minutes.
In the other high-scoring game, Robert France registered a treble for Pepsi Hikers in their win against Saints. France found the back of the opposition’s net in the 22nd, 24th and 26th minutes and was supported by Aroydy Branford with a treble in the 17th, 33rd and 37th minutes.
Leon Bacchus contributed a double in the 3rd and 14 minutes.
Yonnick Peters and Hilton Chester scored for Saints in the 11th and 16th minutes respectively.
In other results from Saturday night’s matches, playing in the women’s category, GCC Spartans defeated Old Fort 2-0 after leading 1-0 at halftime. Scoring for the winners were Marzana Feidtkou (2nd minute) and Serena Chan (30th minute).
GCC Vintage inflicted a 9-5 loss on their Pitbulls counterparts, compliments of a double each from Alan Fernandes, (2nd and 15th minutes), Dwayne Scott (1st and 36th minutes), Devin Hooper (8th and 24th minutes) and Philip Fernandes (23rd and 25th minutes) plus a lone strike by Marcus Fiedtkou in the 32nd minute.
Scoring for Pitbulls were Meshach Sargeant who bagged a helmet-trick of goals in the 18th, 29th, 31st and 34th minutes and Keon McKenzie in the 39th minute.
