The rider of an ATV (All-Terrain Vehicle) succumbed to injuries he received Tuesday when he collided with a car on the Buxton Public Road, East Coast Demerara (ECD). Dead is Wade Paul, 55, of 106 Middle Walk, Buxton.
Investigations by Police revealed that the fatal accident occurred at about 13:00h. Paul, known as ‘Rastaman’, was reportedly riding the ATV at a fast rate east of the public road when he lost control and slammed into the front of motor car, PPP 4124, which was proceeding in the opposite direction.
Paul was rushed to the Georgetown Public Hospital where he died while receiving treatment.
According to eyewitness, the rider of the ATV was pitched some 10 metres away while the motorcycle toppled several times. The driver of the car escaped unharmed.
