Lindener bailed on break and enter charge

A THIRTY-YEAR-OLD Lindener was on Friday released on $60,000 bail by Magistrate Judy Latchman for allegedly attempting to break into a woman’s home.Samuel David Brown denied that he entered the dwelling house of Wanita McIntosh at Lot 1874 Central Amelia’s Ward, Linden, during the night of June 22, 2016, with intent to steal.
The court heard that on the night in question, McIntosh secured her house and retired to bed. However, during the course of the night McIntosh’s son-in-law, who lives with her, was awakened by a strange noise. The man then made checks in the home and found the accused in the kitchen. When confronted brown ran out of the house and made good his escape.
Three louvres from the kitchen window were missing and the back door was pried open. The matter was reported to the police and ranks later arrested the defendant.
Police Prosecutor Corporal Kerry Bostwick made no objection to Brown being granted his pretrial liberty, but requested that reporting conditions be attached.
Magistrate Latchman adjourned the matter until September 6.
